Torey, Torey, Torey! – Torey Pudwill Wins Tampa Pro

Thats Right!, Torey Pudwill is the reigning Tampa Pro, winning back to back Tampa Pro’s (2011 and 2012). The 21 year old from Simi Valley, California has a lot to celebrate, he is a back-to-back champ, he has his own grip tape (grizzly grip), and I hear James Cameron want’s him to play a feature role in “Avatar 2“. Ok, so that  last part may not be true, but we sure are proud of this skate slayer and wish him the best. Congratulations Torey!

Check out Torey’s winning run:

FCS Launches The ‘Genuine Campaign’ New X-2 Fusion System

After a huge flow of imitation plugs has hit the market FCS has finally come out with a resolution to the issue of inferior plugs being sold. Now there will be no confusion as to what brand of plug you are getting in your board. Manufactures and consumers will easily be able to tell with a Genuine ‘FCS’ stamp on all FCS plugs.
While the design and geometry of the FCS X-2 and FCS Fusion plugs remains unchanged, the new branded plugs are aesthetically different.

PERFORMANCE
FCS team riders such as Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning, Julian Wilson and Adriano De Souza are backing the new genuine FCS plugs. They want it to be clear that riding a high quality, reliable product really does make a huge difference.

The FCS dual plug system is the most widely used, and the most successful system in the world. 35 ASP World Titles have been won by surfers riding FCS.

Kelly Slater was asked why he has continued to use FCS plugs in all his boards “FCS has done the most testing, has the best fins, and I trust the system completely… that’s why I use it”

FCS X-2 FACTS
-The most widely used fin system in the world
-The strongest post-glass system on the market
-The lightest installed system on the market
-Small individual footprint that doesn’t compromise rocker or tail flex
-Compatible with all bottom contours

FCS FUSION FACTS
-Can be used in Epoxy/EPS and Poly/PU construction
-The lightest and strongest pre-glass system on the market
-Shorter footprint than other pre-glass systems, does not compromise rocker or tail flex
-Available in 0, 5 & 9 degree to fit all bottom contours
-Cuts down manufacturing time

The new genuine FCS X-2 plugs are now available worldwide and will completely replace the current X2 plug.

February Face Mask of the Month: Airhole

the standard airhole: animals series

Snowboarders Kale Stephens and Chris Brown are onto something… you idiot!  Airhole face masks bring the “fun” to function and are made from some of the most technologically advanced fabrics to wear against your face.  At BC Surf and Sport we have slayed it in sales of the Colorado face mask.  The thing that makes the Airhole, to be obvious, is the hole!

If you have spent any time on the continental divide closest to you, then you know what kind of conditions most Coloradoans will snowboard in.  50 mph plus winds, blowing snow, whiteouts… sometimes just the ride on the chair requires special equipment.  Here it is.  Most other face masks drive the expelled air from your nose and mouth into your goggles.  When conditions require a certain amount of visibility, let’s say while exiting the chairlift, it is helpful to be able to strap in and go, without worrying about the fog in your lens.   Airhole face masks expel that air out the hole.

the standard airhole: stache series

Using Ultra-soft Brushed Polyester, Merino Wool, Polyester Mesh and Polar Fleece; Airhole is at the forefront of textile technologies.  They have developed a high-tech fabric known as Airhole Drytech which pulls the moisture away from your face and into the outer layers of your mask where it will evaporate, keeping your face warm and dry.  Airhole has also developed masks from Cashmere, Flannel, Pleather… and keep your eyes peeled for the Airhole scarf in 2013.

the standard airhole: party panda series

At BC our favorite mask is the Standard Airhole:  we love the Animals series, the Stache series, the Party Panda series, and the women’s collection.  The Standard features a velcro closure and is available in S/M and L/XL.  Check them out at bcsurf.com, for availability is limited and February conditions have made them essential.

Facemasks you idiot!
